About Dungeon Masters Official Soundtrack
Composing the Dungeon Masters Official Soundtrack began with an unpredictable and unique quest. David Arkenstone was presented with countless scenarios that might unfold with a roll of the dice, and he created 47 tracks for Dungeon Masters, an unscripted Dungeons & Dragons actual-play series. The players’ choices and real-time dice rolls could change the story—and its emotional direction—at any moment. The music had to be ready to follow.
What emerged is a musical world that travels from quiet wonder to thrilling battles, from tender moments and humor to suspense, camaraderie, and triumph, sometimes on the turn of a single roll. Those shifting moods come together in a sweeping, expressive instrumental journey. Whether you know the series, play D&D, or simply would love to take your own adventure through music, this album invites you along.
The orchestral score was performed by the acclaimed Northwest Sinfonia, conducted by David Sabee. Featured soloists Luanne Homzy on violin, GRAMMY® winner Susan Craig Winsberg on flute, and Carlyn Kessler on cello were recorded at RUSK Sound Studios in Los Angeles, adding warmth and intimacy to the album’s larger sound
